Matt is an author and illustrator of fiction stories for children and young adults. He founded Bonobo Books, an independent book publisher, in 2024. His debut illustrated novel, Three Hours Till Midnight, was named a FINALIST in the 2026 Next Generation Indie Book Awards in the category of YA (Young Adult) Fiction ages 12 to 16.
Matt’s artwork has also appeared in numerous galleries throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as being placed in the American Guild of Judaic Art.
Matt earned a Literature degree from the University of Michigan in 1995. Today he lives with his wife in Sandpoint, ID and works as a children’s Art and Music instructor. In his free time he writes fiction, plays with the neighbor’s dogs, enjoys gardening and athletics.
