Part of being a vegan is investing considerable time examining ingredient labels. And not just of food labels but the many products we use in our homes and on our bodies.
Like sunscreen.
Many sunscreens are vegan so I was surprised to see a new brand that proclaims that it is kinda vegan:
The company is trying to be cute by claiming that the bees are “cool” with it.
To make things worse they proudly proclaim they are cruelty free “always and forever.”
I realize that non-vegans may be surprised to learn that beeswax is not considered a vegan product. But bees are animals too. They are exploited just as other animals are exploited. If you do any research into how industries use bees for pollinating crops and for supplying honey and wax you might not agree that the bees are “cool” with it.
So, no, kinda vegan is not vegan.
